Good Mountain Cider Co.
Good Mountain Cider Co. was a passion project I worked on between September 2015 - June 2018. The initial premise of the project was to make cider to raise funds for environmental reclamation projects around the Pacific Northwest. I made cider and was renovating a facility in Sultan, WA while also working nights at Moonshine BBQ to keep the lights on. When construction costs got high, I turned to crowdfunding to try and raise additional funds. I did not end up reaching my goal through crowdfunding, but did take angel investment to complete one of the major unexpected construction costs. For 3 years I made cider for small corporate events and weddings with aspirations to build the brand into something bigger. In 2018, I decided to return to grad school to get a degree in Entrepreneurship. Unfortunately, I could not financially support the cidery and my education, as well as the building I was operating in was being sold.
Do. Be. Drink. Good.
The Core Values for the company was to empower outdoor recreation enthusiasts and cider drinkers to consider the holistic approach to their daily lives. The expanded mantra was “Do Good for Others. Be Good Leaders. Drink Good Cider.” Marketing promoted doing good in the community, feel good lifestyle stories, and epic places to drink good cider.
